My CFB Top 25 Rankings

1.Clemson 6-0

Reason: Clemson, as always in recent history, is dominating every team that shares the field with them. Their offense, led by top Heisman prospect QB Trevor Lawrence, has looked to be the one of the best in the whole country. They haven’t played anyone top tier yet (unless you count Miami) and they won’t play anyone top tier until Notre Dame but they by far deserve the number 1 spot.

2.Ohio State 1-0

Reason: Okay okay okay...I know what you might be saying. How is Ohio State over Alabama when they’ve only played 1 game?! Well let me explain. So there might be a tad bit of bias in this but from what I watched in the Nebraska game, Ohio State’s game was pure dominance. The Buckeyes defense might’ve started off slow but that’s because they’re young, and the same thing happened last year when they let Florida Atlantic drop 21 on them. But by the second half the defense got their stuff together and the offense all game looked like a close opponent, if not better, than Clemson’s offense. I think Ohio State is a better all around team than Alabama which is why their #2.

3.Alabama 6-0

Reason: Suprise suprise, Alabama in the top 3. Alabama probably has the toughest schedule out of any of the CFB Playoff contenders and so far they have yet to lose. Their offense has looked great so far but with the loss of their #1 receiver Jaylen Waddle we’ll see if that changes anything for the Crimson Tide’s offense. Their defense has looked good but not great, they lost a good amount of players and are playing with a young group of guys. They should win out from here on out which would put them easily in the playoffs and that’s why they’re at #3

4. Notre Dame 5-0

Reason: Notre Dame has just been Notre Dame, winning easy football games. They haven’t had a test yet but they’re undefeated and looked pretty good most games. They’ll have a true test when they play top ranked Clemson in 2 weeks, so we’ll see then if the Fighting Irish are really worthy to be in the playoffs.

5. Oklahoma State 4-0

Reason: OSU came out of nowhere and became easily the best team in the Big 12. Led by top running back prospect Chuba Hubbard, the Cowboys have been able to roll on offense, beating Kansas by 40 and taking down 17th ranked Iowa State. Not sure how long OSU can keep it up but we might finally have a new CFB playoff contender.

6. Georgia 3-1

Reason: Georgia’s schedule has been almost as tough as Alabama’s, if not tougher. Their only loss was to Alabama and they have a win against 7th ranked Auburn, and 14th ranked Tennessee, both wins were won by 21+ points. If they win out and play nearly perfect we could possibly see the Bulldogs back in the CFB Playoffs.

7. Texas A&M 3-1

Reason: The only reason why A&M is over an undefeated Cinci, is because they’re in the SEC and their only loss was to Alabama. They do however have a quality win when they hosted #4 Florida and came away with the 3 point upset. I don’t see the Aggies staying in the top 10 very long though.

8. Cincinnati 4-0

Reason: Cinci, clearly the best Group of 5 team year in and out. This year they are dominating on the field again, led by former Ohio State Defensive Coordinator and Head Coach Luke Fickell. They’ve beat every team they’ve played by 10+, with 2 wins against ranked opponents. With the way this year has been going, the Bearcats might sneak their way into being the first Group of 5 team in the CFB Playoffs.

9. Michigan 1-0

Reason: I feel this year the Wolverines are out for revenge. They absolutely destroyed a good Minnesota team. Their offense looked great, their defense looked great, they looked like a complete team. We’ll see if they can keep it up, if not Harbaugh may be out the door but for now I have U of M in the top ten

10. Florida 2-1

Reason: Florida has looked good in their 3 games. Kyle Trask has looked like a Heisman candidate up until the Texas A&M game. I would put Florida higher but that loss to A&M really killed them, they play Georgia soon and that’ll be a huge indicator if their playoff ready or not. For now I still have them as a top ten team.
