Clowns coming back in 2020?

The clown mayhem that started mid October of 2016 is, well...back. Nobody knew why it started maybe just because it was around Halloween. Many people thought it was a joke and a fun little thing for Halloween but when it started to get violent and scary. There have been many police calls for help due to these clowns. Trying to lure a kid into the woods by themselves with candy isn’t something normal. No kid or adult should be scared they are going to run into a killer clown either in the car or just walking around the block. Halloween is supposed to be a fun time, not a let's lookout for killer clowns trying to get near us or come up and be beside the cars. Everyone thought it was gonna be good for the next few years. Multiple videos from many different states have surfaced in the social media world of clowns standing on the edges of wood lines or even in the middle of the roads.

Mid-October of 2016 was the beginning of it all. In the Green Bay area, a Local Wisconsin news reported that the Green Bay clown had prompted people to call 911 to report its creepy presence, even though standing on a corner holding balloons isn’t a criminal offense. The fact that the clown was there seemed to be all it took to spark the wave of coulrophobia, a fear of clowns. This was the first of many clown sightings but since it wasn’t causing any harm it couldn’t have caused an arrest. The next clown sighting was in Greenville, South Carolina it was a 911 call that there was a group of clowns waving and making strange noises, even whispering and then pointing at people in their cars. All of these clowns in Greenville, South Carolina were standing near the end line of the woods. A man from Winston-Salem was arrested due to filing a police report that soon came up as a false statement. These clown sightings were sweeping throughout the United States. There have only been a total that has been arrested so far wearing a clown mask or wearing a clown costume. Two teenage boys were arrested in Arizona for robbing a fast-food restaurant wearing a clown costume. In Alabama, there was a 20-year-old man arrested for chasing little kids around wearing a full clown costume. Many more false statements were made in October mid-November.

A few years have gone by and we're now in 2020. With everything going on nobody knows how Halloween is gonna look this year. To the clowns, it's gonna be more of a trick than treat. Many videos have surfaced the internet of clowns resurfacing all over the United States. They started to show up on the app TikTok. It started when a video of a man in Kentucky being chased in his car by a killer clown wearing a full clown outfit. Next was a video posted by a resident in California who was being chased by a clown with a machete. A tiktoker by the name Iliana Navarro posted a video explaining her encounter with a clown She explained in the video that “she lives in a small town where there isn’t much to do, so she spends her free time driving around and exploring things like an abandoned old bunker and a deserted train junction. She had just passed the train junction when she reached a creepy road with no lights. She noticed something coming toward her and, assuming it was a deer, slowed down. That’s when she realized it wasn’t a deer. She started filming as she passed by, thinking it might be a hitchhiker or something of the sort”. These types of things are just the icing on top of 2020 awful year.

This leaves many people questioning everything. Some are saying that it is just a Halloween thing trying to scare people. There have been many comments made about if it was just a Halloween scare but if that was the case then why weren't they around ever since 2016. Many are believing these clowns could be planning something big or chaotic to make 2020 even crazier. Is a killer clown going to be planning a trick since trick or treat may not be able to happen or is it? It is an even bigger question what Halloween will look like this year but it will be interesting.
