Best Family-Friendly Vacation Spots: Atlantis, Bahamas
Are you and your family looking for a place to vacation where there are fun attractions for people of all ages? Atlantis, Bahamas is definitely one of those places with many water attractions, casinos, restaurants, beaches, aquariums, and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Water attractions:
Atlantis features a 141-acre water park with over 20 swimming areas. The park includes lots of water slides such as the most famous “Leap of Faith” that is an almost vertical slide that is 60 feet long and includes a clear tunnel that goes through a pool of sharks and other marine life.
One of the most popular water attractions is the rapid, wavey river ride that is a mile long called “The Current” that includes conveyor belts.
If you are wanting to go to the Bahamas and stay away from kids, there are adult only pools and hot tubs you can enjoy. Also, there are beaches surrounding the Aquaventure Water Park and hotels that guests can enjoy with soft sand and crystal clear waters.
Adult Activities/NightLife
Linking the hotels “The Royal” and “The Coral” there is the Atlantis Casino. Guests of either hotel can use their room keys to insert into the 700 slot machines available or can show their key at any of the 85 tables. The tables include games such as the ones listed on Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas website, “Featuring baccarat, Ultimate Texas Hold’em poker, Let It Ride poker, craps, roulette & blackjack, high roller & private gaming stations”.
People over the age of 18 visiting Atlantis, Bahamas have many options for what to do at night and clubs/bars to visit. Although most of Atlantis is kid friendly, there are places adults can go away from children.
Dolphin Cay-
Atlantis includes many experiences and activities guests can sign up to take part in.
Swimming with Dolphins- You can swim/snorkel with dolphins. There is an option to either do the shallow water or deep water program. In the shallow water program you get to touch and kiss a dolphin. In the deep water program you do all of the shallow water activities but also get to swim next to the dolphins and then have a dolphin push you through the waters by your feet.
Stingray Experience- You get to be hands on with Cownose stingrays in clear, shallow waters. You get to swim with the stingrays and also hand feed them.
Snorkel the Ruins- You get to snorkel the ruins of the mythful lost city of Atlantis and the marine life surrounding it. You swim alongside sharks, stingrays, and many other tropical fish.
Restaurants/Eating
There are 14 quick food places surrounding the pools that offer many options of food. If you don’t want to leave the pool area but want a quick bite, these places are open. There are also many sit down restaurants that include fine dining, casual dining, and outdoor dining that offer great views. One of the nice outdoor restaurants is Virgil’s BBQ. At night you get to sit outside and admire the beautiful scenery of the water and hotel. You can also catch a taxi and go to the boardwalk which has many different food places along with little stores you can shop in.
