There is so much free time for the people who have been ordered to shelter in place due to Covid-19. Some people don’t know what to do with all this extra time they might not have had before. A lot of teens know exactly what they will be spending their time doing, playing video games. Video games are a great way to escape from reality, get your mind off of all the problems in the world.
There are many ways to play video games, people play video games on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and so many more devices. On each one of the devices I named there are over a thousand different game choices. Some video games don’t really have a meaning and are just fun to play. But some can actually help with your everyday life.
Parents may not like that their child plays video games all the time, but at least they aren't out causing trouble. Video games have many benefits to the people who play them. They can improve problem solving skills because if they mess up in the game they have to find a different, or the right way, to play. It can enhance memory because if you're playing a game where someone can kill you and then you respawn, you know exactly where to go because you remember your way around the game map. Video games aren’t as bad of a hobby that some might think it is.
On some online games it allows you to talk to the people playing the game with you. So while playing the game you can actually make new friends even if you may never get to meet them in real life. It’s cool to interact with people all around the world within these video games.
The time that we have been quarantined, stats show that the time spent on video games have skyrocketed. Gaming can improve attention and concentration and is a great way of learning new things. Video games are a great way to spend your time if you are bored and don’t know what to do. There are many good benefits from it, and it may be your new favorite hobby.
