The heartwarming and comical Super Bowl LIV commercials that will leave you laughing and crying


The Super Bowl is really important to the American society. Businesses want the slots of their commercials because they know that it will reach the majority of the audience at once. However, the cost of these commercials are excessive. Majority of the commercials are usually funny, but this year we have many tears at the heartstrings.

“Take it to the house kid.” The 2020 Super Bowl started with a heartwarming video of a boy running throughout the whole country with special guests of famous former and current football players. The commercial ended with the kid running out of the tunnel and giving the official game ball to the ref right before the coin toss. This commercial stole the hearts of America. The commercial showed how we should all help each other. That kid may someday end up in the Super Bowl playing for his team.

Another tug at the heartstrings kind of commercial, is the Google “Loretta” commercial. This commercial is about a widowed man who is trying to not forget things about his wife. He tells Google everyday something about his wife that he remembers about her for google to remember and when he asks google something about Loretta he is able . This is a pathos commercial. Pathos means that it will pull at your heartstrings and will use your emotion to convince you to buy their items. This commercial is supposed to pull at your heartstrings.

On the other end of the spectrum, Avocados from Mexico had their commercial like a TV host trying to sell things to tend to your little avocado friend. Some things included were little hats and travel sets. This commercial is supposed to be funny and make you laugh. It is a lighthearted commercial; that is family friendly and can have the whole family enjoying it.

These very heartwarming, or comical, commercials have a price attached to them. For just a short 30 second commercial you would pay 5.6 million dollars just to air it on TV. That does not include the actors and the cost to make it. Based on this data a 60 second commercial should cost 11.2 million dollars. Advertisers pay top dollar for these commercials because of the amount of viewers. There was 99.9 million views this year for the Super Bowl. These viewers are the ones seeing the commercials that are trying to sell things and show you these things.
