What Are These Places?
These two Halloween adventures are fun places to go and be scared. Nightmare in Nashport is a thrilling walk through the woods while the Haunted Hoochie is an indoor scare facility. A lot of people love fall for the weather and others for the fun Halloween spirit. There are so many places to go get scared but for Valley people these are the most common ones.
Nightmare in Nashport is located on Frazeysburg Road in Nashport. In my opinion Nightmare in Nashport is better than the Haunted Hoochie because it gives you more of a thrill feeling because of having the dark woods surround you. I have been to this walk through many times and every time there scare sheds are a little different, so the crowd doesn’t have to pay for the same experience they got the year before. Throughout the walk in the woods there are about 8 little sheds you walk through. Each shed has a different theme, for example one shed might have a lot of clowns while the other is filled with scary baby dolls. While walking in the woods you can hear people screaming your name from the distance, which makes it even scarier to keep going. This walkthrough is only 15 dollars a person and takes about 15-18 mins to walk through the path. It is a very fun and scary “Trail of Terror.”
The Haunted Hoochie is located in Pataskala, which is about a 40 min drive from Licking Valley. The first time going to the Haunted Hoochie is a very fun and scary experience, even when waiting in line. When you walk into the facility there are already people dressed up to scare you while waiting in line. There is a stage where they do a little thrill act to get you scared before entering the building. A group of about 10 or 15 people go at a time and it is 25 dollars a person. It takes about 18-20 mins to walk through the whole course, but most people are running. It is a very scary experience but going back after going the year before wasn’t as much of an experience. After the first time you go it doesn't really change much, so you already know when all the big scares happen. Although it is fun to see your friends’ reactions of them being scared.
These are just a couple of the scare places around Licking County there are so many more to visit. Both of these places do a really good job on making sure your experience was a great one, even if you screamed so much you might not have a voice the next day. October is such a fun time of the year, not only because of all the Halloween places to visit and costumes to see, but because of all the fall festivities as well.
