Senior Spotlight: Ethan Hile

School is ending! Senior year is coming to a final stop. In honor to celebrate the ending of the long yet short year, I have interviewed Senior Ethan Hile here at LVHS to give you some insight of what his last days have been like here at Valley.

Ethan states his last days at Valley have been boring, and on a scale from 1-5 he is ready to leave high school at a solid 5. From what he says, he is not stressed. He is just looking forward to the day he walks across the stage and says his goodbyes to the high school hallways. Ethan spent most of his time at Valley playing sports, Football and Lacrosse. His favorite memory is the Final Four, (which is football related.) He has put so much of his life into his sports, and he is ready to finally be done.

Though, Ethan will miss his friends, he looks forward to the life he is going to take on in the fall semester. Ethan is going to The Ohio State University- Newark for Wildlife Management, where he will learn how to solve the possible issues to Wildlife. The major is heavily based in Science, and I wish the best of luck to Ethan on this journey.

As second semester began, Ethan and I started to sit at lunch together, because we were the only seniors in our lunch period. Sure we had grown up together, but we still weren’t very close. Most people would say a two person lunch table is awkward, but it isn’t. There are days where conversations are constant, and there are days where we both have our headphones in doing school related work. It was comfortable silence, and there was always advice given if it was needed. What I have learned from this whole semester is Ethan is a very picky eater, and his favorite lunch is Soft Pretzels. Out of all the options, it’s this one. Then, you will always here one of us complain that we ate our lunch as a snack throughout the morning and that we were starving. So Ethan’s advice, (and mine), is to ALWAYS bring some snacks to school. You will thank us later.

Another piece of advice from Ethan is to care about your grades. They matter your first three years of high school. Senior year, your grades will not be impacting the colleges that accept you, and the scholarships you may apply for. Your grades are a very important aspect of the high school, so always try your hardest. Also, always cherish your friends because you will get to where we are at, and it is saying goodbye. As senior year is ending, all seniors are wrapping up their days. The final days of seeing the same people, in the same classes, and in the same seats everyday. The final days of cracking jokes in the hallways and hearing laughter fill classrooms. Make sure you spend your high school career having fun, but not too much fun. In reality, you do not get these years back, and you want to make the best of it.
