Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 Review
The second part of the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was officially released onto Netflix, April 5th, 2019.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina first appeared onto Netflix in October, 2018. The show originated off of the Sabrina comics, as well as the 90’s sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch. What got many watcher’s attention was the people behind the cameras. The creators of the hit tv show Riverdale are the producers for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The first thing audiences noticed while watching the show is that the setting, Greendale, is the town over from Riverdale. Now the show is considered one of the best supernatural dramas of the year.
In the first part of Sabrina’s story, many emotions are explored. Sabrina Spellman is a half-witch, half-mortal living two different lives. As she struggles to decide whether to commit to one or the other she experiences a lot of drama and hate. Although her family and friends attempt to comfort her, she is still weighted with the decision on her shoulders. Should she be a witch? Or a normal teenage girl? In the end of part one, despite the conflictions, Sabrina chooses to sign her name over to the Dark Lord (a.k.a Lucifer) and become a witch.
The first part of the show primarily attracted the eyes of teenagers because teenagers in real life experience the same emotions. Many teenagers are forced to make important, life-changing decisions like Sabrina Spellman. The show also revolves around drama, and teenagers often can’t get enough of dramas. For example: Riverdale, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural. Teenagers can reflect upon Chilling Adventures of Sabrina because of the emotional connection and the genre itself.
In the second part of the plot featuring Sabrina Spellman, the show is slowly unraveling Sabrina’s destiny as the right hand of Lucifer (a.k.a the Dark Lord). At the beginning of the second part Sabrina continues to be manipulated by Mrs. Wardwell (a.k.a Lilith), Lucifer’s current right hand, into following the path of darkness. As Sabrina discovers her full potential, as well as other main characters of the story as well. Sabrina’s closest friends, Roz, Theo (previously known as Suzy or Suz), and Harvey are all still adjusting to Sabrina being a witch throughout the part.
Many shocking events occur that excited audiences to the point where they are eager for the next part to come out. I personally loved the way the writers unfolded the story throughout this new part. The slight cliffhanger left at the end of part two indicated that there will most definitely be a part three. The cliffhanger left me off my seat, already hungry to watch part three.
Questions that audiences have thought about repetitively after watching part two are questions that tend to make someone curious as to what the next part/season will be about.
How will Sabrina and the ‘Fright Club’ save Nick?
Will Lilith be a friend or foe in part 3?
What is next for the Church of Night?
Who killed Sabrina’s parents?
What will happen to the real Mrs. Wardwell?
