Raise the Age

The age to buy a rifle is too low, especially when you consider the age requirements on other things in the United States. In the USA, you cannot buy a handgun or drink/purchase alcohol until you turn 21. In the states that allow marijuana you have to be 21 in order to smoke or carry it. In most states you also have to be 21 in order to even enter a casino.

A couple things that you can’t even buy are Kinder Surprise eggs (chocolate eggs with toys inside) and an artificial sweetener (a very flawed and insane trial deemed it dangerous but every other country ignores that and uses it).

Personally I am glad that we are protecting our children from dangerous, deadly, and outright monstrous Kinder Surprise eggs and doing nothing about rifles.

I am not saying to take away or even restrict the rifles that are sold I am just suggesting raising the legal age from 18 to 21.

Some people may argue that when they are 18 they can enlist in the military and they get a rifle there, why can’t they have one now but I don’t see why that matters? Sure, when you go to the military where your whole job is to do the things those guns were designed for and a lot of it is actually using those guns you need one, but when you are working at McDonalds you do not need a rifle in my opinion.

The easy solution is to just raise the age, but more is needed. If we just raise the age, then it is just three years they have to wait. We need to raise the age and we need to add more restrictions and better background checks.
