It’s about time to call for a change. It should have happened along time before this, but sadly that isn’t how this played out. More awareness needs to be brought to the problem at hand. Suicide.

The word in itself should make your heart sink. Suicide is a real issue and it seems to be growing. I know what you’re thinking...here we go with the “suicide is bad, teachers are always here for you” crap, but that shouldn’t be how this situation should be thought of.

Everyone's home life is different, and everyone should have someone they can turn to in a time of need. Teachers, keep your door open and always pay attention to the actions of your students.

Students, be accepting to all and keep an eye on your peers. You never know how someone will ask for help, but you can always be there to talk to when they do choose to verbalize their need for help.
