Bowling Preview
The Licking Valley bowling team looked marvelous last season with an LCL championship from the boys and a second place finish coming from the girls. The teams are eager for the new season to start and they’re setting goals no other team has had before.
With me personally being on the team of the Varsity boys, the goals are higher than they have ever been before. The team was six pins off from making it to state last year and the goal like every sports team here at valley is to win state. Is it possible? Definitely with a lineup of four juniors and two seniors. Multiple of us are also ready to improve our averages, the team has gotten better than last year. Also the team has a chance to cash in win back to back LCL championships. This years roster of the team has had only one change because the team lost a senior last year, but the team got a few bowlers that stepped over the summer and got better.
As a member of the Varsity girls team, senior Amanda Hood is hopeful “that the girl’s varsity team wins or at least gets second without tying with another team.” The girls team finished second in the league last season. Hood also believes “the team is going to be more optimistic and help each other out in one way or another.” With it being Amanda’s senior year her goals “are to continue being anchor for the team and also to beat [her] personal best which is a 223.”
Come out December 2nd at 1 pm at Park Lanes in Heath to support your 2017-2018 Licking Valley Bowling team.
