Football Review

The Licking Valley football team has had a fantastic season under Coach Randy Baughman. The team is 10-0 with such a strong offense and defense that they are able to leave opponents in devastation.

This football season has been special. The team is 10-0 going into the playoffs and they are going full speed and hope to destroy anyone in their way. They are one step closer to reaching their goal for this year and, according to Chase Whisner, the goal “has always been to be playing at the state championship in week 15.”

Last year wasn’t a great year for the football team but the players have turned it around this season. Whisner explain this year was better because the team “we wanted to make it a goal to outwork every single team we play. Nothing would be given to us, we had to take it.”

The team is amazing this year, but how are they going to be better for next year? Whisner believes “Just like we have done this year, we are going to continue to grind and work our butts off in the weight room. We are losing a lot of seniors, but if we work hard and have that mix of confidence and “swag” about us that nobody should even be playing on the same football field as us, I think we will be just fine. I am excited to see what our class mixed with the classes below us can do.”

The team plays this Friday at Randy Baughman Stadium against Unioto, come out and cheer them on.
