Parking Lot Painting
Seniors and Juniors are painting their parking spots at Licking Valley High School, in order to save their spots, sometime in September. Painting will take place Fridays after school. Many students over the years have had problems with overcrowding in the school’s junior and senior lots, which results in many spots being taken. As a way to prevent this, the Student Council plans on letting seniors and juniors to paint their spots as a form of claiming them.
There are requirements set to be made in order to participate. A member of Student Council, Tylynn Shaner, says, “Requirements that need to be met include a payment of $20.00”. When asking Mrs. Conley where this money will be going, she responded, “It is a fundraiser for Student Council. We are heading up all of the organization of the project. We will use the money for all of the activities we fund for the school. Operation Feed, Teacher Appreciation, Valentines to nursing homes, etc.” Another member, Kyle Rice, says students are also required to bring their own paint if they want to take part in this opportunity. Mrs. Conley also says that “If you may be interested in participating, you can have the Student Council to do it for you. If staff will kick in an extra $5.00, then Student Council will buy the paint and paint to your liking.”
Next years Juniors and seniors shouldn’t worry about the paint staying in the lots. This is because Regan Crabtree says, at the end of the school year they will be painted back to black. You can also pay student council $5 to paint it for you. The email mentions that to sign up, go to room 207 and make sure to have a pre approved design. Do this by coming up with an idea of what you want, and having it checked by whoever is in charge.
