15 Cent Movies At AMC Theater

by Ryan Blackstock

That's right, any movie for just 15 cents at select AMC theaters in comparison to the average admission price of 13.69 for ages 13 and up. The reasoning behind these cheap movie tickets is no mystery. AMC is celebrating over 100 years of serving movie buffs their favorite movies in the most thrilling and comfortable way they can. 15 cents seems low in today's prices but in the 1920’s those were the average prices for a ticket to the movies. This is because the money economy was highly different back in the old days.

This surreal sale of just 15 cent movies only happened for one day though sadly because of the Covid-19 outbreak that is among the world. People are still required to wear a mask while inside the AMC theater building and while attending a movie. Not only do people have to be socially distanced, but there is only a limited amount of tickets sold for sale for each movie showing. The AMC theaters have 50% less seating capacity than normal. This is to help with Covid-19 regulations. Also, the theaters will be regularly cleaning the theaters doorknobs, seats, handrails, and restrooms every hour to help sanitize. The theater is hoping this will help give some money back to them. By movie buffs buying movie tickets even though there is a pandemic. Since Covid-19, AMC theaters sales have gone down over 60% because of the closing of theaters. No, AMC theater will have more than 250 seats to each building in use at once. When attending a movie, the CDC advises you to keep an empty seat next to you.

If you unfortunately couldn't attend the movie you wanted to for just 15 cents while the superb sale that had happened, there is another sale but for old classic movies for only just 5 dollars every Tuesday through Thursday at select theaters. Movies from the 1920’s that offer the price of just 5 dollars are The New Mutants, Unhinged, and Words On Bathroom Walls. These movies are from the 1920s.

There are some fantastic sides and unpleasant sides to these ridiculously low movie ticket prices. A great thing out of these low prices is if you enjoy movies and going to the movies you can go to for very cheap. A downside to this is that you still have to follow Covid-19 regulations still. Watching a movie with a mask on may not be fun for others. Plus maybe you don't want to take the chance of being in a room full of people for a very long period of time. It may even be that you don't want to follow the certain paths you have to take just to get your tickets and watch the movie. One question still remains, will you take the chance to watch a cheap movie during the times of Covid-19?
